Default Where to get FAST 78 Ported?

Hey Im in the process of negotiating a deal on a $500 Fast 78 intake...now before you say get a 90 let me say this...my car is completely stock looking except for some NBM colored suspension, that being said i followed the same theme on the engine, bc if you were a regular guy at the strip or a show and you looked in my engine bay you would think it was stock other than some black headers which is what im going for....more bout that in a minute

I have 224/230 cam, ls6 top end (heads ported by me, about +6cfm intake which aint bad for rookie free port/clean), some 3.73 gear, and a mail order tune from pcmforless...everything i got is internal other than the intake which most ppl dont know the difference...

The reason i want to get the fast 78 is because after i shave the wilson logo and hit it with some satin black it will be unnoticed...i hope lol

In order to make it worth it i would sell the ls6 for $300 and then with only 200 in the fast 78 i would be able to get it ported, which is my main question...Where do you guys get yours ported at? Obviously i would want Mamo to do it if possible bc i saw a post where a ported fast 78 is worth 20rwhp over an ls6 (granted good afr heads), how do you contact him and whats a round about Cost? Who else is out there that has done ALOT of Fast intakes?

Also does anyone know if the stock fuel rails/throttle body are compatible with either the FAST 78, 90, or 102(prob not)? I know about the coolant mods/valley bolts, any other modification neccesary?

Thanks

As far as the fuel rails and throttle body you can run all the stock stuff.

I would say 5-10hp but not much if its unmolested. Its around $500 for tony to do a FAST 102, being the FAST 78 is considerably smaller he may charge less tho.

i think it would be a waste of $. i barely picked up anything with my fast92 & im h/c/i/e
lots of other things to spend that money on when your goal is not just about building power. items like this should be waited on until trying to make every last pony...
suspension/drag radials could be more useful

I already have full suspension and et street radials already...short of getting exhaust cutouts on the header collectors and maybe TB/MAF which is probably worthless compared to an intake manifold...already got CAI, Lid, Bellow, etc...

Actually now that i think about it the only suspension part i dont have is a torque arm which im waitin to install when i do 3600 stall next month...

The reason i am leaning towards this intake is its only a $200 upgrade with no porting...plus i figure the Fast 78 will provide better air velocity rather than just sheer volume like a Fast 90, whichs might keep me from having to upgrade the injectors, which i dont mind oding i just wanna NEED to swap them rather than just "bigger is bettering it" my duty cycle was nowhere near maxxed out after h/c/i

I dont think the FAST 78 is a 3 piece like the newer Fast intakes, anybody know? I also saw the Weiand Street Warrior what ever happened to that thing? did they even sell any?

God so many people are naive. The FAST 78 and FAST 90 are the exact same intake, just a different top shell. You can port the opening to 85mm and pretty much be on par with the 90. There are a few people, notably Tony Mamo. Also RPM motorsports in CA can do it.

If you want it ported send it to mamo and you will be happy and it be just what you want, that's what really matters anyway as long as your happy and its what you want.

If you have heads that only flow 6cfm over stock castings I'd say you wont gain much if anything going to a FAST 78. Save your money.

stock ls1 fuel rails will work on a fast 78mm intake.if you port the TB opening out to 85 mm get a 80-85 mm 3 bolt TB.I believe holley makes one.
