Long Tubes, No cats, Magnaflow 14419 mod to new TSP S/S ORY, GMMG
I knew this setup was going to be loud, so I went ahead and bought the Magnaflow 14419. The new TSP ORY is really nice but necks down to 2.5 inch where it connects to the cat back. I realize they have to do this so that it will fit most all cat backs, which is fine. I was going to wait on installing the Magnaflow and just see how loud it was. The GMMG mid pipe also necked down, so I decided to go ahead and install the Magnaflow and weld it straight to the end of the Y section of the ORY. This would give me 3 inch all the way out. It worked great, and fits good under the car. I didnt get a chance to drive the car but it is still loud as hell in the garage. I am not sure if I am getting rasp or not. If it does and I cant take the noise then I will but some cats on it. I think the good TSP merge helps the rasp.
I read a lot of complaints on rasp so I wanted to share my mod. I will get some pictures of it under the car tomorrow.

I have a GoPro so I am gonig to try and get one today. The car seems like it is smoking after I put the headers on. Its not the smoke burning off the headers either, it is coming out the exhaust. Its white/blue smoke not black. And it smells like burning oil. I have read about guys noticing these cars smoking after a LT install. I know its impossible for the headers to cause the car to burn oil, but I never noticed it before. Maybe the cats used to burn the oil out of the exhasut when they were still in there....wierd

Ok, here is the video I made today, I think it sounds really good. As far as I can tell it has very little rasp. Maybe I am wrong. It is pretty loud but I guess I was expecting it to be louder. The Magnaflow must have tamed it down quite a bit. This GoPro does not have the best sound, my laptop speakers are not very good either so let me know how you think it sounds. I turned off the EGR, and the AIR in the tune as well as the rear 02's. The car is backfiring bad, I reused my stock plugs and wires. I am thinking I may have broke a plug. I searched around and that seems to be common with header swaps. I will pick up some tomorrow and swap them out.

Yes it is, I think its the PCV, I know the LS1 PCV system is not that great. I guess thats why everyone swaps to the LS6 or runs a catch can. Also the back fire is gone, I swapped all the plugs, and found a coil boot with a split in it.
If you search "smoking after headers" there are all kinds of threads.

Wow, Looks great! Did you have to TIG weld that or is there enough carbon in the stainless that you can just use a regular mig and steel wire? I think I'll be doing this same exact setup except with kooks headers and ORY.

I plan on doing the same thing as here but using a Kooks Y. I hope to clamp the Magnaflow muffler right to the 3" section of the Y pipe.
96lt4c4 - Do you think you can post up a quick picture of the ground clearance of the magnaflow can with the car on the ground?
