the magnaflow tips are cool to the touch, even when running...at least mine are. but to adjust them away from the bumper, just loosen the clamps that secure the pipes to the outlet of the muffler, tilt the muffler up a little and re-tighten them.

If anything my passenger tip is too far to the right...not centered. As far as they stick out & how close they are to the bumper, they are just perfect. Mine are cool as well to the touch after running.

i did look underneath the car. it looks like that the muffle was installed at an angle. the tips dont stick out far at all. its just on the of the tips they seem close to the bumper. it was something i just noticed and wasnt sure what to think about it

here is where mine sit, just perfect in my opinion. both my tips are centered, but it did take some adjustments and driving here and there to get the tips exactly where i wanted them. the muffler still sits at a little bit of an angle behind the axle. here r some pics of where mine sit

and yes i know my bumper is scratched up, i am in the process of getting money to paint the front and rear bumpers, little things here and there.

yea i like where yours is at. my tips are almost up against the bumper. i cant even put my hand between either of the tips and the bumper. is it possible that after driving it around they would adjust themselves?

Nothing pissed me off more than when I had my Magnaflow because the passenger tip was right on my bumper and melted a spot on the exhaust cut out there. I'm just glad you can't see it unless you're under the car. Oh well. I could never get the tips right with that cat back.

One of my friends has an 01 TA with magnaflow, he was more pissed off about how quiet it was than he was about his crooked left tip.

the adjustment is more how you position the muffler then anything. the tips have hangers on them so they are pretty stationary, but if you push up on the back of the muffler with the outlet pipes loosened a bit then it will adjust the pipes to the correct angle.

yea the magnaflow exhaust is pretty mellow but i personally like it until i get on it and it gets alot louder. yea i saw the tips have hangers so i might have to get under there and adjust the muffler alittle bit. thanks.

trans_am7935, I like where you have them positioned. I see too many with the pipes sticking out to far/ and/or crooked.

thanks, it took me a few times driving it around town, countless minutes staring at them and 2 times on jack stands adjusting them. but it was worth it.
