That's why I'm here, because my "friends" ante now in "county" so I'm looking for the most output while still passing emissions

ya unless you have friends longtubes wont pass. there are cam's that have been tuned and can pass smog, talk to Pat G to get a spec'd cam. otherwise, start the suspension upgrades so you can actually use the power you currently have instead of spinning them away with those tires.

i would go for the nitto nt05 over the extreme contact. i had no problems with nt05 in washington state by seattle with rain.upgrade from the rear of the car to the front. call strano for the springs they are worth it.

224R cam from Texas Speed will give you a nice power increase and you should be able to get it to pass emissions relatively easy.

i was hoping someone would say cam lol tho is the cam guarenteed pass CA emissions or is it a maybe? I want the best and most aggressive but still be legit, i know i can't go TREX style but whats the closest. The reason is because the pigs been trying to catch me riding dirty, but I got beat by a Evo last week, can't let that **** happen again, what about injectors? Ignition **** even spray? How dangerous is a dry shot into the airlid?

There is so many ways to get a car to pass emissions with something "illegal" such as a big cam. But the 224r should pass easy. It won't give you a big gain like the Trex cam but probably another 35 rwhp with a good tune. Get it with a tall enough lsa and no one will ever know its there.

224/224 114lsa is the unwritten size/overlap limit(-4*) for California, you can go with a different duration on the lobes but you need to keep the overlap to -4* or more(-6*, -8*, etc..). I'd also have your factory heads ported and milled or get a set of AFR 205s or 210s(has CARB EO#).

Thanks for the clarification 99bluz28

@need2speed. Will 243 heads affect emissions?

Nope! They'll just extract a few more ponies I'd only worry about a cam and headers effecting emissions, but as others have stated... the 224R cam is perfectly legal for emissions. Sounds pretty good even on a 114 LSA. Good luck with your car!

damage? like $ or real damage?

a 100 shot and someone that halfway knows how to use it wont hurt a thing. I've slapped a 100 dry shot hidden on a stock 98z28 before just to outrun someone. Not the right way, but it can be done

you can find used kits and parts and spend like $250 on a wet kit all the time if you stay on CL. Dry kits even cheaper.
