Default Got an exhaust idea

I have a 99 Z28 M6 with a hooker catback and JBA shorty headers. Lol i know, im getting rid of the shorty headers for some bbk longtubes. But thats not my idea. I want to take the Hooker muffler out and put two Kooks Race Series Mufflers before the tips. These mufflers sound so good on everything else. So my question is has anyone done this yet and if so do you have any vids of it. thanks guys

If you look at a diagram of a muffler assemble for a F body it wouldn't be as easy as taking off the muffler and adding 2 mufflers. You would have to fab up the whole back assemble and connect it to the pipe that goes over the axle. You would need to fab up something similar to the LM setup except with mufflers. And there is no reason why you couldn't do it as long as the mufflers are fairly short and will fit.

where the exhast meets the hooker muffler, have like a y flange. the driver side tubing would stay the same just add a straight piece. now on the passenger side, get a 90 degree bend and have it go back into the passenger side exhaust. the Kooks mufflers come in a 10 inch length or a 14 inch length. i have the idea all in my head just kinda hard to explain. i think it would work great. any other input?

I think it sounds like a good idea. Keep long term in mind though...I went through 2 exhaust setups (wasted $) before I was happy.

You could also set them up like the GMMG if room is an issue.

Are you talking about something similar to mine? It has the y split over the axle and two single mufflers before the turndowns/tips

i dont think its hard to do..its similar to the LM exhaust but with 2 bullets at the back..the hard part is finding "true" bullet mufflers in that size to fit back there, and this will also be very loud and maybe raspy.

The car came with manifolds and just the LM1. Loved that until I did LTs and small cam, then it was why to loud and raspy. So it still has the LM1 resonator inline before the axle and got the muffler shop to put two small glass packs on. Now it sounds better to me then when I got it, its 3in y off the headers straight to the y-split over the axle then the 2.5 mufflers. Maybe like a 150$ addition to the system and wouldn't trade it for anything else. And zero rasp!
