Default GMMG and CME in 2012..

I have an 02 SS with a SLP CME. I want to switch to a GMMG cat back and retain my CME tips. From searching I heard that SLP crimps and compresses the connections and then puts a clamp over it. Therefore, its nearly impossible to remove the 90 degree elbows. With new SLP elbows discontinued and none on ebay or anywhere for sale i'm stuck. Has anyone successfully removed any connections on the CME and re used them? Im open to any ideas to adapt my CME to a GMMG. I want to get everything welded when its complete.

Here are some pictures of my stock set up now.

(This is the clamp I want to remove the most. To the right of the hanger.)

I want it to look like this all finished.

You can get new tips from 6LE. His are much nicer than the stock CME tips.

Either that or you'll need a torch to heat up those pipes and some muscle to separate them. An exhaust shop could do it for you if you wanted to go that route.

Oh forget to add that Mark from 6LE has the 90° elbows along with the tips.

Thanks, I don't see any 90's on his site. Does he sell them individually?

They come with my OEM style CME tips...

I would just cut them at the straight part then have them welded back...

I bought two drivers side elbows from SLP for their quad outlet Z28 exhaust and had them cut to fit. I chose Mark's(6liter) CME tip over the factory style for mine and couldn't be happier. I think it turned out great. I used band clamps on mine on the tip side so that I could move the tip side to side, and up and down for perfect adjustment, and then when I tighten it down, it keeps me from crushing the pipe. I chose to have the elbows swelled and welded to the tail pipes on the gmmg though. I blended my CME too.

If slp doesn't have any more elbows, you could always use these, http://www.jegs.com/i/PYPES/958/PVM28S/10002/-1
