No need for a hinge just cut it 3 sided and peel it back. I'll have a pic posted shortly.

The cut, sides and rear, front side left intact.

Panel pulled back down. Two small strips of sheet metal riveted in-place to hold the panel flat and then sealed with foil tape for AC ducting. The sheet metal pieces swivel out of the way to let the panel come back up for quick access.

I used rtv and aluminum rivets to secure the small piece of painted sheet metal I used.

I'll have to admit, I did have to bend one of the locking arms upward to to get the lock ring up through my trap door cut out since I tried to make mine as small as possible. So if anyone does one as small as mine you might want to consider cutting it about 1/4" lower at the bottom.

The top riveted pieces will swivel over the panel to hold it down or swivel out of the way quickly to pull the panel up for access. We sealed it with silver foil tape to act as a vapor barrier. Quick and easy process that works very well.
Have any Pics? Of that thanks, know I'm kinda late thanks again

98 is different than 99+ they are NOT the same. make sure not to cut through your wire/lines. i just cut 3 sides 01ssreda4 did and covered it with duct tape. one of the most handy things i ever did. my pump died last week and guess what took my 5 mins to get it out.
