Angry Oil pressure switch

Guys, I need help fast. While installing my new oil pressure switch, after breaking my old one while installing my intake, I over torqued the new one and it broke down to the thread. Any tips on how I can get this f*#*#* thing out? It's in my 2000 Camaro, so space is limited. I'm getting sick and tired of this car! PLEASE HELP!!!

Do you guys think a screw extractor type of bit would work?

Should. Just be careful you don't twist it down in more installing the extracter and really screw up the threads. If you have to chase or tap the threads, be very careful. Anything that goes thru the sensor itself or down the hole is going straight to your lifters.

That's what I'm afraid of. I have to dril a whole to get the extractor out and don't want any shavings to get in there.

Could you use a short chisel and a wrench to turn the chisel with? Just trying to help...I have had success using this method. Good luck with and let us know how you get it out!

Do you guys have any tips for using a screw extractor in tight spaces, especially the drilling the part to get the extractor in place?

Guys, my dad and I were able to get the broken part of the switch off. I had to go buy a 90* adapter for my dril so that I could drill a whole for the extractor, then we just used some vice grips to turn the extractor because the drill kept slipping. It was a great father son moment.

Working without a torque wrench on an aluminum engine...and just filled the rear oil passage w/ metal shavings.

The fail is strong with this one. Good luck anyway.

PS: a 1/4" drive inch-lb torque wrench would be a good investment before reinstalling the intake manifold. The engine is probably toast anyway when your drilling debris gets into the bearings and lifters, but no point snapping intake bolts.

Was extra careful and drilled very slowly so that I wouldn't drop shavings down there. I stuck a magnet down there and it came out clean. Plus, There's a small threaded insert within the tip of the oil pressure that came completely out when I was doing it leaving the opening for the screw extractor, so it actually dodn't make any shavings. We'll see. Crossing my fingers and hoping everything goes well.
