ive been looking at doug's electric cutout system, i think they are worth it. 400 for the pair and you can do it yourself. just a temporary straight pipe after headers is just going to make it go from a nice pur to a pissed off Mongol. im going for it after i buy my long tubes. plus it would be also a definite power gain.

I highly recommend it, especially for a cammed car. The car seems a litte quicker to rev, but it could be all in my head. I did it just for the sound and probably wouldn't have cared if I lost 5 hp. I've got a single wireless Raceland in my i-pipe at the axle. Just like was said above, it's priceless, especially that mine is on a key fob control.

I went with one QTP cutout in the intermediate pipe. Was it worth it? Absolutely!
Why was it worth it? First of all, the two primary benefits of the cutout is better flow and exhaust volume. The only real con is the rasp that comes from having it completely open (and there's a fix for that).
For many of us it's just too loud to run straight through a test pipe 100% of the time. That being said, I'm sure there are times when most of us crave the ridiculously loud rumble of open headers. With the e-cutout, this balance is possible -- just flip the switch and its there instantly.
From a "sound" perspective, we all have our own preferences, however here's my $.02. Open headers on these cars just sound way too raspy for my liking. That being said, running straight through a catback with a well-modded car just ends up sounding restricted (for lack of a better term). The compromise I like is to run with the e-cutout partially open. This adds volume to the exhaust note, however it completely eliminates the raspy sound you get when the cutout is fully open. Essentially you get to take advantage of the tone of the catback and the volume provided by the cutout without having to deal with the rasp or the restriction of flow. Best of both worlds in my opinion. Tough to achieve that same balance with a manual cutout (how do you leave it only 40 - 50% open??).

From a quality standpoint, I was pretty pissed when my QTP crapped out after only a few months (not the motor, but there was an issue with the pin inside that spins the valve). I sent mine in for a "rebuild" and learned that they've completely updated the housing (much more durable). Had the new one in for a while now without a single issue.
DMH is quality as well. I swore my next cutout would come from them after dealing with the QTP mess, however now that my QTP is working flawlessly (and I attribute that to an improvement in the overall design) I might be more inclined to go with them again in the future.

As stated above you can adjust to take the rasp out and really gives a good clean rumble. I have had mine on for several years and no problems. Its a qtp and I use it atleast twice a day. I have been thinking of using the same set up on my 67 p/u.

On a mild cammed A4 Camaro with Stage II heads and stock block, stock trans, ORY, intake, 1-5/8" LTs, we gained about 8 RWHP on the dyno with a single set up, 408 at the tires.
The DMH is definitely the way to go. We used to sell the McCord but he stopped making them. DMH has a 4 year warranty, the best warranty in the business. The downside is they are built to order but we try and get them out pretty quick! It's worth the wait.

My raceland has been good, but I got a heck of a deal is the only reason I bought it. I do love the fact that its wireless, most aren't. I've actually scrubbed it on something and lost the dust cover, so it won't last long. But it's not a dd or even second vehicle, so I'm not worried. Mine has absolutely no rasp due to high flow cats and a flowmaster merge. It gets opened everytime I drive it.
