Engine idles low after intake install
Just installed a bbk intake on my ta. First startup it idles around 500 and will die if I cut the ac on if I unplug my mass airflow it runs fine is it my mass airflow?

The first 2 simple things i would do is try a TPS reset (unplug tps, turn key to on position 30 seconds, turn key off, plug in tps, then start car again) and the second thing i would do is check for a vacuum leak, you say it dies when you put a load on the car turning the a/c on. did you move the MAF closer to the TB? if its too close its going to jack up your reading

This same thing happened when I installed my SLP lid on my '01 Z28. The engine would idle really low and try to die, I had to rev it up a few times to keep it from dying. I shut it off and started it back up again, same thing happened. But this time I took it out for a test drive, got it up to WOT a few times. I shut it off again and turned it on, then it was normal.
I'm pretty sure it's just the PCM relearning the new air intake, takes it a few miles of being driven to adjust. Hope this helps.
BTW, see your in Vicksburg, opposite side of the state, been through there a few times.

I would think it probably does need a little idle tuning to make it right. You say that it idles fine once it warms up? That probably means that closed loop operation is fixing the problem, once the O2 sensors are kicking in. Your data tables that control the engine in open loop may need tweaked. I do my own tuning, and I would tweak it a little, add a little more idle air flow, and see how that works. The only way to know for sure what is going on is to data log the car, it is still possible it could be a vacuum leak too.

There is no way you need to tune you car for just an intake. It's definitely not the PCM. Maybe clean out the MAF, make sure the TB is clean, but it doesn't need a tune, almost positive of that.

Do you still have the old stock airbox? Might want to try throwing that back on and see if the problem continues.
Is the engine throwing any codes?
By idling like ****, what do you mean? Does it idle really low and try to die?

Check your throttle body gasket. The BBK intakes come with a gasket that is missing a hole for the IAC. Simply cut a hole in the gasket where the IAC opening is on the intake and more than likely your problem will be solved.
