Default typhoon intake

i was looking into getting a typhoon intake and i didnt know if anyone had any experiences with them?

can you use a stock throttle body? what type of gasket do they use? do they really put out more power than the ls6?

just looking for opinions

They put out about the same power as the ls6 but they come with about double the weight. They look pretty cool tho.

similar covers and looks good. Buddy's car, and with ported 98 heads, 232/232 cam, stock bottom, and typhoon put 410hp on "stingy" dyno....

And I would really like to get a polished one on my setup... I am not a fan of the injector rails or gaskets, but they have longer runners so better bottom end as in era of TPI...

Is "looking" the same as "searching"? Just curious.

That's a hint, son.

Search. I had one, looked great. Then I went with a fast 102 and changed my exhaust, found 33whp peak and 38wtq on what most people consider a baby cam 383. Also looks great.

They're just fine if you get the new gaskets from PP. I installed one on a friends GTO and he blew 2 sets of gaskets then we found out we had the older paper gaskets, PP sent us the updated ones for free and we haven't had any issues since. It's not a product I'd ever buy but it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

I wouldn't recommend it. I put one on my car and it actually put out 17 less HP and 14 less tq then my ls6 intake. Needless to say I'm sticking with my ls6 until I find a decent priced fast 90.

Ill post a dyno sheet later. I had a typhoon 96mm with a 102mm TB. Made 373hp 347tq on my Cam and bolt ons t/a. Went to a ls6 intake as I was not happy with those numbers, put down 390hp and 361 tq from just going to a ls6 intake and 85mm TB
