Default Long tube selection for 04 GTO...

Guess its finally time to break down soon and buy some LTs. Their are a few options and all greatly vary in price and I dont know which way to go. Cars an 04 GTO and they must be coated or stainless. Heres my dilema>>Ive pondered Kooks, Stainless Works, and Pacesetters that have been Jet Hot Coated. Stainless Works and Kooks are high as hell and Ive heard Pacesetters have a bad rap for 3-4 yrs into it they bubble or something. So the question is can you guys shoot me some suggestions for price, power gain over one another, size for basically stock engine with cam, and fitment. Thanks a lot guys!

Pacesetters are cheap but don't last long before they start to rust

JBA just released a longtube header cheaper than the high-end Kooks, SW, SLP, and ARH but nicer than the Pacesetters.

Thanks guys. 409 i checked the JBAs out thats a good deal, but I dont like where they actually TELL you theyll rust lol. I just wonder how the Pacesetters from Maryland Speed do that they send to be Jet Hot coated?

Sure but its only surface rust not structural, theres nothing to stop the pacesetters from rusting completely through.

Coating will stop the surface rust on the JBA's. I have heard of the pacesetters rusting even through the coating but it does take a long time.

so you've got a gto tax like the vette guys do haha.

spring for the high end stainless and don't look back. anything else you do will just upset you a few months from now when they start to peel and generally look like a pile of ****.

Lol, GTO tax is probably worse, 40,000 total GTO's in the USA vs 111,000 LS2 Vette's out there. Plus I would bet that Vette owners are more likely to buy go-fast parts than GTO owners.

If companies don't sell twice the number of headers for Vettes than they do GTO's I would be shocked.

Exactly. Hence the small number of GTO specific parts. You have to hunt for **** especially interior and exterior things of good quality. But 409s right Vette guys already beat us money wise on the car so headers shouldn't be but a drop in the bucket for them lol.

I'm Voting Stainless Works

Stainless Works 2004 GTO headers have 1 3/4" primaries with 3" collectors. We use a thick 3/8" flange to ensure a true surface for sealing. A lot of these cars end up being lowered so we made sure to keep the collectors close to the floor to maximize ground clearance. Everything is made from 304L Stainless and TIG welded for quality. Life Time Warranty too!

On a stock LS1 we were able to pull an additional 35 rwhp and 35 ftlbs with our catback and a tune.

We have tons of dealers on LS1Tech. I'm sure one of them could get you taken care of OR you could call us directly. 1.800.878.3635 X232
