LS6 or FAST intake, 1 7/8" headers, get a cam specced for your needs and desires and everything that comes with it.

For $2500? Cam it + supporting mods(beefier valvetrain). Best bang for the buck and the power is always there.

Okay. What do you mean by my desires? When i say im a newbie I mean the most i have done to a car is put a new water pump on.
I want bolt on mods that wont screw up anything stock too badly. I already had a clutch installed. Its not stock but i dont know the brand. Its supposed to be rated for over 500hp. So the only thing im worried about is my rearend and overall life of the motor. Its only got 80k on the entire car.

I believe he's talking about the cam spec'd to your need/desire. Cam is going to determine your car's "manners" and hp/tq curve ie: how early you reach your peak hp and such. Google "how to select cam for ls1" and you'll find a lot of articles on how to pick one that suit your need. Cam, beefier valvetrain and long tube headers for $2500 and the car will be way faster. Hope that helps

Oh and i dont need to worry about suspension because the guy before me put racing parts all under it. Shocks, springs, lower control arms, rear sway arm, torque arm, pan hard bar. so my suspension is taken care of. now all i need is some fast hp and performance. I like the idea of heads and cams. Can anybody give me some options....which ones are best bang for buck. what is best for my car...its going to be strictly street. I live in the middle of nowhere so i speed a lot and want to get there fast. please help! raysadude! i am not familiar with internet. what are some great places to order these parts from? do they come with manuals on how to do it?

Google is your friend

Seriously there are more internet threads on cam options for the LS1 than there are pages in the bible.

It really depends on how deep you want to reach in your pocket, heads range from $1500 - $2500 give or take. Cam with supporting mods will go for $1000 - $1500 again depends on how much you're willing to spend and hp/tq you're shooting for. Those prices are without labor, so if u don't do your own work you have to added labor into equation.

Everyone has different opinion about shop, in my opinion the best shop to order parts is WS6store.com period. Fair price, fast shipping, awesome customer service

+1 ws6store. They've always done good by me

OP: Start with cam, headers with exhaust. That'll be $1100-$1600 depending on route you decide to go (it pays to spend the big bucks for quality products) I.E. Coated headers. 1 7/8" TSP headers have been said best to be out right now. There's also some others like Kooks and American Racing I've heard are good, but they'll run you almost a grand just for headers. Then maybe a stronger rear end/drive shaft. Good thing your clutch is already taken care of, or that would be next. After that heads, but that's gonna be expensive. Or go for intake: chris1313 intake, lid, bigger tb, 85mm MAF, ls6 intake if you don't have that already, or spring the big bucks for more power on a FAST 92.

Here you go, hope this helps you get going.

Exhaust

assuming you already have muffler and I pipe

Texas Speed 1 7/8" LT headers - $500
http://www.texas-speed.com/p-291-tex...e-headers.aspx

Off Road Y pipe - $130
http://www.texas-speed.com/p-293-tex...ad-y-pipe.aspx

DMH 3" Cutout - $200

http://www.dmhperformance.com/ecutout.htm

Intake and Heads

FTP 98mm lid + 85mm MAF + pigtail for MAF and IAT wires + couplers + LS6 intake + Port and polished Throttle body + LS6 coolant lines would run you around $700 max used (find them in the parts classified section on this board)

Heads - PRC Stage 2.5 LS6 CNC Ported Heads - $1549

http://www.texas-speed.com/p-4-prc-s...ted-heads.aspx

Cam
private message PatG one of the member here with your HP/TQ goal and he can setup you a custom ground cam from EPS which would run you around $450

valvetrain parts (lifters, pushrods, rocker arms, spring and retainers, etc) - really depends on your preference and budget but should not be over $1000 unless you're going with the best parts

Fuel

Fuel injectors - 36lbs - $305
http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...-hr-injectors/

Miscellanous

UDP pulley - $150 find one used in the classified section

this is assuming you buy the heads brand new, you can save some money by buying used NON WEAR AND TEAR parts.

with $2800 you better off with Exhaust ( Headers + ORY and cutout) + Cam and Valvetrain + fuel and good tune, worry about the rest of the part later on down the road.

Oh with heads and cam you will be over 430 rwhp and beat stock/modded 2010 camaro ss, heck even with cam and bolt ons you will be over 400rwhp alot of guys here have done that.
