Default Energy Suspension Motor mounts: New? No clam shell?

Saw they have a different style mount that looks like it doesnt use the OEM clamshell setup. Anyone use these? are they any good?

Are you talking about the poly mounts? That's what I have and they definitely need to be inside of the stock clamshells. I'm not aware of a solid motor mount that they make.

Anyone use these yet? Looks like a cross between solid/poly.

That doesn't look like its for our car. You'd need another piece attached to that to mount the engine.

Those are based on old style chevy mounts, i converted my clam shell to these for my ls swap and bought plates separate.Back it the day (early seventies) these mounts were separating engines were lifting from frame, i think there was lawsuits against GM , so GM came up with the clam shell mount then if the rubber broke the shell would prevent the engine from moving. energy suspensions mount has an interlock inside to prevent seperation. I like the old style better, lighter weight more compact.

Prothane also makes the clam shell inserts.

The ES mount are basically the same, and cost a little less.

If you want to use the old style mounts get ready for some fabrication, with an older camaro ,i made a frame mounts to use them for my BBC when i converted it to lsx i just had to buy the plates cause an lsx uses a 4 rectangle mount and a traditional chevy engine uses a 3 bolt triangle mount thats farther ahead.

^ nothing really, just looking for other options.. Im not considering solid mounts... I heard they raise the motor a bit, change the angle and could cause ypipe contact, resonate vibration more and also make a trans removal a real pain in the ***...

Motivative mounts haven't done any of those things to my car. Lol. There aren't many options out there. 4 company's do solids. Or you have to do the clamshells

If you want something like the Motivative mounts, except in aluminum look at the UMI mounts.
