Default Cold Oil Level?

I just picked up the CBM oil adapter, piece looks great.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CBM-10820-LS...#ht_1950wt_954

My question is can I pull the old one off without oil going everywhere? I'm not sure where the cold level on the oil pan is...maybe I could jack the car up from the back if the level is too high?

Don't want to put another 5-6 quarts of amsoil in..just changed the oil...but also don't want to wait 5000 miles to put my new gauges in.

Thanks guys

Then looks like only option is to jack it up..or buy some extra oil and be quick about swappin the parts.

You may lose 1 maybe 2 quarts just swapping the oil filter adapter. Just get a few extra quarts, and some brake clean to clean up the mess.
