Default Need stock catylic converters both sides 2000 trans am

Hi.

I'm getting code p420 bad catylic converter. So I'm going to replace both and order slp laud moth catback.

I don't know which catylic converter is exactly same as stock. Can some one let me know which company makes them and the part number.

Thanks
Roman

If you're interested, you can go to Magnaflow's website, that's one place that I know of where you can find both the passenger and drivers side direct fit cats for your car. Summit I believe carries them too.

Part numbers for the direct fit cats are

Drivers Side-#51788
Passenger Side-#51587

A few things, first off the code PO420 doesn't mean "bad cat" it means Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1). Just because Cat is in the name doesn't mean thats the problem. It could be related to a O2 sensor among other things. For example on my car when I installed the LM catback and a Lid it would threw the same code and my cats were fine.

Secondly, Cats are not really a wear item. If the cat is in fact bad on your car its stupid to replace both of them if only 1 of them is bad. They either work or they don't, it would be like getting a nail in a tire and replacing all 4 of them.

Starz is correct. The code only tells you where to narrow down the search so you have an educated starting point.
