Default Cutout or no..

I have LT with ORY and LM1. Would it make a difference to have a cutout? Sound or performance.

I would guess it may give a couple HP. The LM catback shouldnt be very restrictive. It would prolly be a bit louder. Before I had LT's and OR-Y I gained 6rwhp with my cutout opened vs the wide open plate Borla catback.

I had an SLP Loudmouth 1 and, after I removed it at the rear axel intersection in preparation for the installation of my Magnaflow muffler, I drove my car around town and observed the following:

- My car had sounded meaner and better with the full Loudmouth piping and resonator.
- My car felt a little slower between 5- and 30-mph.

Keep in mind that this is just one person's experience. If your Loudmouth is bolted on, like mine was, and if you have the time, desire, and experience, you could always remove your resonator and see what you think, since sound and performance are so subjective.

Good luck with which ever decision you make!

With a lt/ory/lm1 combo how much louder can you get. I don't think it'll be much of a hp difference since the lm1 has little to no restrictions.

I honestly thought when standing behind the car that my car with long tubes, off road y pipe, and lm1 was louder than my buddys car with long tubes, off road y pipe, cut out to a magnaflow muffler. Maybe because mine is piped out the back and on his car some of the exhaust is still flowing through the magnaflow muffler?

To sum it up there is no point in putting a cut out on a lm1. It might be louder inside the car (more rattles) but outside I honestly couldnt tell much because both were so loud.

Save your money. Invest in one if you should decide to cam it. That's where having the cut out will shine and create some more power. You won't notice any gains "power wise" with your current set up.

+2 to what Turk said a sock cam is designed for the back pressure from a full exhaust, another problem is the electronic cutouts seem like they always leak, take that into consideration if u have a tight *** safety inspector

the only reason id do a cut out is to make my exhaust loud at the flip of a switch cuz i have a magnaflow. like it was sad before a cut out will be usefull if you have a cam because it will be able to flow better than with a cat back.

Putting a cutout on an LM1 is like putting a cutout on a straight pipe (because that's what the LM1 is). Spend your money on something useful.

I went from LM1 to tsp duals bullets and I felt slower as well. I would just keep your LM1, its hard to beat
