Quieter Exhaust Needed..Cammed, LT's, ORY, etc
My car is cammed, has LT's and ORY. And it has the obnoxious LM1 on it.
Here's the deal. I don't want to hurt peformance, but I HATE the sound of this car. It's WAY too loud as a lot of you know.
Would I be better off running a much quieter exhaust and using an electric cutout?
I've read about the Magnamouth and Borlamouth conversions and I guess it's an option.
What do you guys think of beating this dead horse?

I had the LM1 with LT's and it was pretty loud. However, people post all the time how quiet the Magnaflow is. Dont want to over compensate and kill your sound either. Probably Borla or Corsa might smooth out your exhaust a bit or the options you mentioned might help.

I have the Hooker Aerochamber cutback with a cutout. The cam lope is hardly noticeable with the cutout closed. I have LT's and ory with the MS3, and its obnoxious when the electric cutout is open, but nearly sounds stock when closed. Best of both worlds for me.

Never heard a magnaflow in person, just read about it on here. The loudmouth wasnt too bad at cruising either but more often than not it was chompin at the bit which is what the OP doesnt want anymore.

Alot of guys with wild h/c/i setups claim to only pick up around 5whp with the cutout open on a Hooker system. They seem to work just as well as the straight through setups. I have a Magnaflow on my car. Only complaint I have with it is the idle is too quiet. It sounds awesome cold but after its warmed up its too quiet for me. WOT and general acceleration to get up to speed sounds great. Cruising once in top gear is super quiet until pedal pressure is applied

Oh and the muffler was only $80 shipped for a 3" single in/out.

Went from cammed w/ long tubes, hi flows and LM1 to a Magnaflow catback, and the difference is night and day!! The LM1 drone is GONE.. The raspy sound is pretty much gone! Driving around normally, its nice and mellow sounding. Its a whole lot easier to carry on a conversation in the car now. WOT she makes some noise, and IMHO sounds really good! And hey, for about 400.00 you can get a complete stainless catback!

I'd go with either a Borla XR-1 #40085($130), or a Magnaflow #12867($93) in the I-pipe, both are 5" dia. and will be noticeable quieter, not quiet but very liveable.
Here's when I had the Magnaflow#12867 in the I-pipe and dumped.

Here is my car with lpp headers and mufflex 3.5" with the magnaflow muffler. I tried a flowmaster 30 in its place, lets just say it was on there a day. You really cant beat no drone, sounds good and loud when you get on it. Its stainless too !
