Default Head Casting question

Ive got a 2002 trans am, and i was working on the motor last night when i noticed it has 241 casting heads. Shouldn't a 2002 have 243 casting? also, is it a major difference? should i try to find 243's?

Like garynu said, the 243's did not come on F-bodies. You could find them on C5 Z06's and a few others. They are a nice mod, particularly when ported! In stock form they yield about 10-15hp over your stock 241's, and ported a good bit more!

You can usually find a set of used 243's or 799's for about $400-500 in the classifieds forums here and elsewhere.

Yeah, i found the 799's when i was going to build up an ls1 for my swap, but plans changed and i bought a 6.0 and decided to turbo it. I never look for heads for my trans am because i thought i had the 243's
