Default Hooker Max-Flow Muffler

Has anyone ever tried one of these? It shows to flow very well and be pretty quiet at idle and pretty loud at WOT.

My bro had one on his T/A. I don't know the hp gains or flow or anything like that but it did sound good.

I'm running one on my SSS and I love the way it sounds. At idle it's very mellow and deep but at WOT it SCREAMS! They are one of my favorite mufflers.

Did you just run it with single out on the driver side? And is your 4" a custom deal, mufflex or sinister?

I ran one with LTs and an ORY. It was very quiet, I only used it during inspection time otherwise I liked the dumped bullet.

If you want quiet and no power loss get it, sounds great just not loud enough.

Thats what I am looking for. Thinking of running a dual 3" to single 4" merge with a 4" intermediate pipe with a cutout, then dropping to 3" over the axle through the hooker with single outlet on drivers side. I can use the big cutout for noise and the track and close it up to keep the neighbors happy.

It would be a perfect combo. I would absolutely do it , just get a nice quality merge!

Mine is dumped just before the axle. I used the flowmaster merge and it worked great.

That is what I used on the old car for my 3.5" Mufflex sys, so was considering it again.

I have a 22" version (that they don't make anymore) on my A4 car with 3" ORY into 3.5" FM merge stepped down to 3" over the axle, 3" in and out. Deep tone, no rasp, fairly quiet in normal driving, screams at WOT. It does get a little loud and slightly raspy in cold weather.

I have a 14" version on my M6 car on stock manifolds & cats with 3" piping, and it's very quiet.
If you do a search on Maxflow, you'll find some of the early threads on it around the time I swapped to one.

I have a single 3" inlet offset 3" outlet over the axle on my 408. It is very quiet. Almost too quiet for me.

I picked up 12+hp and even more tq with the cut-out open.

I am running TSP 1 7/8" SS headers, 3" ypipe with FM merge 3">4" and have a custom fabbed single 4" (basically identical to the mufflex) with the Hooker Maxflow single in/out with the hidden tip. Sounds almost identical to my buddy's Cammed LS2 in his fbody with Kooks 1 7/8" headers Mufflex 4" with the Magnaflow. I love the setup. Mild at idle, very noticeable as the rpm's climb and screams at WOT

Got it done. Quiet as a church mouse. Not really, but definitely quieter than before. Sounds very mellow at idle and no interior resonance at all. I can hear myself think again while driving.lol

Love it. Feels the same as before. Just less noise both inside and outside the car. Haven't opened the cut out yet, but I already know that's loud as hell.
