Default black soot around exhaust welds

I have black soot around my welds and actually on the outside of the pipe about three inches from the welds where it looks like it shot out.. Is this a sign of exhaust leaks? Looks like its around pretty much every weld on my exhaust.

Black soot usually means running rich.

If its coming out of welded areas.....that's obvious exhaust leaks.

If those exhaust leaks are close to the 02 sensor(s) it can throw the 02 sensors off, even if the leaks are 10 inches past the sensors.

In that case....get it scanned with an OBDII, see how the 02's are switching with the engine running. Probably have a bad one dumping fuel.
