Ls6 intake or 102 bigmouth?
Stock z28 Ls1
Trying to start with bolt-ons in which I will see the biggest gains as well as cam/pushrods/springs/rocker arms/valves.
If someone could moreless give me a roadmap who's been there and done that so I'm not spending in areas where attn isnt as much needed.
Looking for streetable 450-500rwhp
I already know what I'm doing with tranny/ rearend,
But roadmap on engine mods with round about hp gains would be very appreciated. (round about, no ones pointing fingers if gains aren't on the money, just a good idea)
Thanks for any help or experience given, Blake

Ok I'll most def look into it, almost seems too easy, lol
It's a 99 z28 and the entire car is bone stock. Bought from a 62 yr old real estate agent. It's hard to find un molested ls1's but luckily I can be the first to have my way with this one.

Ok, here we go....
Your car, if not an 01-02, came with an LS1 intake. 01-02 came with LS6. Personally, I'd run a 92 or 102 over the LS6. Understand this means a new TB as well.
Long tubes and a good exhaust or duals a first. Period. Car needs to exhale. They're ridiculously choked with the stock exhaust. Then a good lid. I'm partial to SLP just because mine fits good and I don't have to worry about the neck cracking like the FTP's.
A ram air set up helps as well. Again, I'm partial to the Chrs1313 ram air because it's a sealed system and, I have experience with it.
Get your exhaust and intake done first off.

Ok, I appreciate that info, I was going to leave the exhaust alone for now, but if it's going to restrict all of the work I'm doing then I'll knock it out first. Do you suggest a certain brand? And should I go with 1 3/4" or 1 7/8" primaries on the long tubes?
I'm guessing once this is done, I'll have to find a "buddy" to inspect it for me after I pull the cats.
