Default What is this vacuum stuff?

LS1 from a 01' SS Camaro. Installed in a 80 vette. Trying to figure out vacuum for headlights. Lights have never worked sicne the POS shop installed the engine. Worked perfect before they half A%% the work to be done.

The red circle is the vacuum to the brake booster which works great.

From the picture.... What does that electronic connector do circled in yellow?

I have very little vacuum from the hose coming under/behind that switch in yellow. That is where they are trying to pull vaccum from to operate my headlights. However, it has almost no vaccum right there.

Is that where I should pull vaccum?

I hooked up the vacuum to the brake booster hose and the headlights jumped up like they should.

help! Thanks!

That's the MAP sensor.
I don't know what the answer is to the headlight issue, but I'll guess that the correct source of vacuum for the lights is wide open...left that way by the garage.
Do you have any engine performance issues?

Okay that's a step in the rights direction. Engine runs great.... after I fixed it which was another project. However It did not like me playing with the brake booster vacuum hose while testing vacuum.
