Default Will I have to run o2 simulators?

I just recently purchased a set of mac mid lengths, with an off road Y. I was wandering if the o2 simulators were mandatory when eliminating the convertors? I know they will keep the ses light from coming on, but is that all they do? Will my car run any worse if I dont use them? I heard the computer goes into open loop mode with the light on. Any info is greatly appreciated.

No the O2 simulaters are not required to make your car run okay. All the simulaters do is keep the SES light from being thrown. Also it is my understanding that the computer will only go in Open Loop mode when the front O2 sensors are not working correctly. So you should be okay. If the light doesnt get on your nerves then dont worry about it. But in some cities if the light is on it will not pass inspection, so thats something to think about.
