Gains from Mid tube headers to LT headers on a Heads/Cam car?
I have done a search on this and only come up with was a old post comparing G-hann LT headers against mac mids. I plan on making the change just curious of the results. If anyone has any results please let me know. thanks

If the Macs were fixed, meaning the welds inside the tubes were ground down and had 3" collectors instead of the ball flanges, then the gains won't be huge. That being said, a LT header will perform better. Just not going to see huge gains if they were worked, if not, gains will be much larger.

The reason I say well made is that most short tube headers do not have the best of collectors. By the way Joe Sherman predicted the outcome of my test. He was right.

Exactly. So, off the shelf Mac headers had some short comings. Fix them and not a lot to be gained. FWIW my old car ran the #'s in my sig with macs. Welds ground and ball flanges opened up but not replaced.
