Default White smoke/Cold Startup

Hey guys, on cold start-ups i blow white smoke, more smokes blows when I'm leaving in reverse if I don't let it heat up enough. as far as i know no smoke just driving/wot. i just did my coolant flush, I've kept a eye on while started, no bubbles, it is a f13 cam, when i bought it was only driven about 200 miles in 2 years, with fresh royal purple but i have switched to Mobil 1, I changed the oil right away, looked fine little dark but normal. the smoke is not sweet, smells like burnt oil and the oil cap is a dark golden, i figured it was from the sitting oil not being used enough, the car runs great/drives great.

I have done a tune up, plugs wires, filter, cleaned maf, I still need to install my pvc valve.

What are you guys thinking this is?!

Hmmm. If your thinking its possibly oil smoke I would pull the valve covers and take a look at the valve seals. Could just need a set of new seals to cure your problem.

Seems to be more when it sits longer but if cooled off for a while just puffs for a couple of seconds
Its starting to get 40-50 in mo. So it may affect it more

Where at in mo? And I though so to but I have good oil pressure and am only like a half quart every 3,000 but I drive like I stole it so I figured I would use oil.

if it were oil wouldn't it be blue not white? white smoke would indicate water or coolant in the combustion chamber wouldn't it???

I agree with that statement. Its just weird he claims to smell burning oil maybe he is just mistaking the smell.

Well, I've started it and had no bubbles in the coolant, I should use a tester. I thought if it was coolant it would smell sweet, but smells like oil/gas mixed. I've noticed a burnt smell in the engine bay when driving for awhile.

i would think unburned gas in the CC would cause you to run rich and have black smoke . . . have you changed your oil and smelt the oil that came out of the engine itself? if it smells like gas you have a problem and shouldn't run it at all

I changed it two days after I bought it. Had a oil change but sat for about a year with only 200 miles on that oil, it looked fine/normal for sitting. I will smell the oil soon because im due for a change.

I think your car's probably fine. I'll get a steady stream of white smoke on a cold start all the time here in Texas. Especially during the fall/winter seasons. Did it with and without my cats. More than likely, the smell is just a bit of unburnt fuel from cranking. The smoke is just condensate.

So relax and enjoy your new ride.
