Default broken intake manifold bolt

so i just finished installing a new set of heads and was putting the intake manifold back on. i quickly glanced at the torque specs and saw 44, so i figured foot lbs, as we all know, i was wrong; it's supposed to be inch lbs. but i realized it to late.

how do i go about getting the broken bolt out of the head now?

Sometimes, you can get lucky and get it out with a pick or something if it is not bottomed out and tight. There are lots of tools out there to use with a drill. Just don't break off any of these tools in the bolt while drilling or you make it much harder.

They are easy to break. It dosent take to much torque. I did it once on my old 98z when swapping intakes. I used a 1/16 drill bit and backed it out with a bolt extractor. Its pretty easy, just stay level and inside the bolt when drilling.

I did the same thing... I used a pick to turn it out.

Since it's not rusted / galled in place, a reverse drill bit
(after a good locating punch) might be the ticket. You
just want it to bite, not remove much material.

i ended up using a 1/32 drill bit to drill three tiny holes in a single line. then placed a small flat head screwdriver over the 3 holes. hit it with a hammer, then just used the screw driver to turn it out. im going to try and go to Ace tomorrow to find a replacement bolt.

i broke the final bolt off when i was installing an LS6 inake in mine and i used a 5/64 "easy out" drill bit to get it out and then took all those POS aluminum bolts out and replaced them all with ARP stainless IM bolts
