Question SSRA "JAWS" owners/users

I am looking for some feedback from owners of the newer SSRA "JAWS" system.

http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...oducts_id=4700

How do you like it?

Gains?

Quality?

I have a built 6.0 in an SS with the FRA mod done. Will it be worth the $200 to get this?

Thanks

A ram air intake can only flow as much as its smallest point...

Think of air as water going through a garden hose at our speeds...

With the hose wide open you get a certain volume of water...

Now if you have a larger hose inline first and it is connected to the same size smaller hose as above it will flow the same water for the same household pressure as above...the only way to get more water for the same pressure is to have the bigger hose the same size throughout...

So you could have a garden hose hooked up to a firehouse and it will flow the same as just a regular garden hose for the same supply pressure

Water volume = more air flow
Garden hose size = ram air duct size
House hold pressure = car speed mph

Hope this helps some

So if you hold a funnel up to a leaf blower and a straight tube the same size as the outlet to the funnel they will both have the same amount of air passing through them and be at the same pressure?

Also air compresses and water doesn't so your analogy is irrelevant.

While all of this is true, a larger opening will create more pressure. If you pour water through a 1" tube, and then attach a large funnel on top and fill that funnel with water, it will flow more water as there is more pressure being applied to the hose.

A larger opening will not create more pressure though...that is the hard part to digest and goes against what seems logical...trust me

If the scoop was by itself protruding into the airstream, the opening would capture all the of its dimensions of 2"x15". Since the scoop is attached to the bottom of the bumper some of the scoop isn't utilized due to boundary layer affect from the nose of the car. By opening up at speed, you are getting back what is lost.

Alrighty, then ... picture this if you will.

10 to 2 AM, X, Yogi DMT, and a box of Krispy Kremes,
in my "need to know" pose, just outside of Area 51
Contemplating the whole "chosen people" thingy
when a flaming stealth banana split the sky
like one would hope but never really expect
to see in a place like this.
Cutting right angle donuts on a dime
and stopping right at my Birkenstocks,
and me yelping...
Holy f*ing ****!

Based on bernoulli's principle, the convergent duct with "ram air" will slow the velocity of the incoming air and increase its pressure. I just bought one today, but I found a deal on one for 180 shipped.

I'm surprised that this product has been for sale for over a year and a half, and no one is really chiming in here to talk if they like it, quality, and worth it....

I was going to go with this one, but for a street car I was a bit worried about the scoop hanging so low at speed, so I just went with the regular SSRA instead.

I went with the non AC version, but not the jaws. i ripped it off once already, and it was easy to repair. i probably would have been screwed if it was the jaws.

Well I bought and installed the SSRA Jaws for my car.

First, the Jaws does work for A/C vehicles.

Coming from just having the FRA mod, it was a good improvement.

The lower JAWS scoop made it about 500 miles before I was driving and there was a large fresh roadkill in the middle of my single lane... Yup that took the lower "JAW" scoop right off.

Right now I still have the system installed, -the lower jaw.

I wish I could have track tested the unit, but again unfortunately the lower "jaw" did not make it.
