Machine work needed for ARP main cap studs??

Default Machine work needed for ARP main cap studs??

I had my 6.0 LQ9 bored over .30 , arp headstuds, scat rods , mahle pistons stock crank, arp rod bolts .

is there special machine work needed for arp main cap studs?? my machine shop is telling there is and i should only run stock bolts!

opinions please!!

alright so i should just run arp main cap bolts...not studs correct lol ls1tech cracks me up, all these dudes on here thinkin they know how to put motors together and only 1 person responded!! forums for yah! lol

Well you did put it in the wrong section. And unless you are building a full on race motor stock hardware is fine for the mains.

no offense but topics like this are routinely covered here so that probably the reason for no responses. but to answer the question no, any other fastener than stock should be align honed. the arps have a higher clamping force than a stock bolt and will therefore distort the bore. the way to do it would be to install the arps then take it to the shop so they can get the bores back in spec, if your going with arp mains then i assume your upgrading the rod bolts also? if thats the case the arp rod bolt must be fitted and honed in a similar fashion

yeah i said i have arp bolts!! im just going with stock hardware on the main caps!! thanks for the input guys
