Default melted rattling catalytic convertors again .advise please

I melted 2 cats this yr .in the spring I wanna cut cats off .do I need to tune out rear o2s. Also my set up on my 99ss is long tubes with corsa cat back. Will car get louder

if you dont want to deal with a service engine soon light you will need a tune to get rid of the rear o2 codes or at least some o2 simulators and yes it will be slightly louder

I hope you solved the problem that led to the melted cats - running super rich?

I don't have any check engine lights or anything n exhaust guy said I must b running rich when I put new cat on 5months ago I'm gonna change plugs n clean maf. Car don't smell bad n fuel econemy ok.
Then cut off 2 bad cats n get tune .hopefully that helps .thanks again

CATS will melt from a RICH condition, cylinder missfires, or coolant in the combustion chamber.

I was going to say the same things. Removing the cats is not going to fix the problem that's making them go out.

Try putting real time scan tool on it the sell them on eBay called torque it Bluetooth to your phone turning it to a hand held live scan tool its a great deal for 33 bucks it also let's you clear check engine lights afr and a lot more

You don't want cats on any high performance car so unless you live in California, get rid of them.
