Kooks + Borla (video) - worth the $$$ ?
When I traded in my LT1 for my LS1, I said I wasn't going to cut any corners with this car. SO I got what I considered to be the "best" catback (Borla) and the best headers (Kooks). With a catted Y and labor, this stainless steel setup cost me around $2,500. What do you think?

$1300 for Kooks stainless steel headers and y-pipe with Mag. cats
$ 700 for Borla C/B (shipped)
$500 in labor
------
$2,500
I don't feel like I got ripped off - sure it could be louder, and cheaper if I bought Pacesetters, ORY and Loudmouth - but I have all stainless steel and I can still pass inspection....

I would opt for something different. I have the Kooks on my car with the Borla and am going to switch to the true dual setup that Kooks is coming out with. It is an awesome setup and the cost should be around the same. If you have access to a lift and good tools you should try to put everything on yourself, you will save a bunch of money. I put the headers in my car with a buddy of mine and it took us about 4-5 hours all said and done. The Kooks install is easier than it looks. BTW definetly go with cats I am kicking myself in the a$$ for not doing so.

$2,500 is about right for that setup. If you want high quality stuff and the job done right your gonna pay for it. You did not get ripped off in my eyes. Also nothing beats S/S. When I lived in Massachusettes I went through 2 exhaust systems in 2 years on my 93 TA from them rotting out. 1 Blowmaster and 1 Hooker catback which totals around $800.- So in the end it is worth paying for the best.

You didn't get ripped off, but 2500 bucks to spend on exhaust is waaaaaaaaaay to rich for most people's blood.
I paid under 900 bucks for my entire LT, Y-pipe, and catback setup. It sounds kick ***, flows as well or better than Borla, but then again I do all my own work which saved some money..
All in all, if you're happy with it and don't mind spending that kind of cash on exhaust then congrats. The car does sound bad ***
