Default Kooks LTs back from Jet Hot coating <PICS>

My Kooks 1 3/4" stainless headers came in today after being coated by Jet Hot in sterling. I'm very happy with the results...quality work, fast turnaround. Here are a couple of pics (they look much more "chrome-like" in person):

Besides the obvious awesome look the Jet Hot gives them, are there any other benefit to coating Kooks or QTP Headers?

Thanks for the compliments. Basically, I did it for the looks, but some say that there is a slight thermal benefit...even on the stainless headers. It was $279 for the sterling coating.

Most excellent!! Thats exactly what I want to do, glad someone out there thinks like me! If your gonna spend money on mods do the 110% right. Why buy hooker coated lt's just to have them rust??? That stainless will never rust, and look absolutly kick *** (with that coating) for the life of the car. Enjoy the best performing, best looking headers i've seen yet!

Yeah...that's what I was thinking...it's not the most "bang for the buck," but it was what I considered to be the absolute best possible setup...

Would those headers all done like yours cost close to 1000?

By the way those look positively awesome!

I used the Jey-Hot Sterling coating on the stainless head pipe on my bike. There is a noticable reduction in heat emitted from the pipes now.
I can back up the quick turn around and quality work comment. I have nothing but good things to say about them.

Great looking set-up. I appreciate someone who is willing to go all the way and do things "right"
I'll probably be doing the same thing next year. I've had my eyes on Kooks headers and a GMMG exhaust. I'm most likely going to coat the whole works. I'll have to wait and see how things pan out.

The headers were $715 on GP, the coating was $279.

Thanks! That's basically my setup, except I haven't coated the GMMG...yet. Whenever my ORY comes in I'm going to have it coated as well. I wanted to keep my entire system stainless, but I couldn't find a Kooks ORY in stainless...only aluminzed, so off for coating it'll go!

Wow that looks really awsome. I was thinking of doing that also, but I ran out of funds.

Maybe when I do my heads I will remove the headers and send them for coating. Do they have to be new to get coated or can they coat headers that have been on the car for a year?

The don't have to be new...this is the process according to Jet-Hot's website:

"...multi-step process including: thermal degreasing, abrasive-blast stripping with virgin aluminum oxide, double-coating (inside and out on headers), high temperature curing, custom packaging for return shipping, and quality-assurance controls during every phase of the procedure."

My motorcycle's head pipe was "used" when I sent it off for coating.About a year old at the time if I remember correctly.
