Help me out fellas
My fuel pump went out in my 99 TA, with roughly 150k on the clock. My questions about the pricing of the OE fuel pump (delphi/bosch) vs the Walbro or racetronix version. The OE pump is only listed as the entire assembly at the lowest price of $350 and the other two for roughly $150-$200. Is there any reason I should purchase the entire pump assembly vs just the pump and install kit with the other two? Are there parts that wear and tear in the assembly that are with the extra cheese to replace? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Not that I can see, as long as you take your time and are gentle with the float arm and sensor.
I just did the Racetronix with the hotwire kit about a week ago. Took about a half hour start to finish as far as the actual "pump work" irself goes. I think it's definitely a worth while investment.

No additional noise what - so - ever. The cut itself was at most 1/8" wide... as wide as the cutting wheel itself. cover it with some of that sticky tape roof patch stuff. Has aluminum on one side and like a tar type substance on the other.
I'll try to find a few pics of the cut I made.

Did my fuel pump a few months back when I started dropping fuel pressure.
Yes... trap door unless you have an immaculate show car. No sound problems, grab a $5 piece of sheet metal self tapping screws and rtv. Tons of threads on the trap door mod, super easy and you can't screw it up as long as you have a steady hand a good cut off tool, don't use a dremel you will be there all day.
Get this fuel pump if your looking for an easy fix WS6store.com direct replacement fuel pump
MUCH Cheaper than replacing the whole assembly, unless your fuel level gauge is off or your think its your FPR (which you can replace while your in there).
Even with stock FPR Im sitting around 60 PSI now at the rail.
Never regretting doing either of the two!
