my car is too damn loud/raspy
Seems like every mod I do makes the car just a little louder and raspier. I currently have tsp headers, ory, into a magnamouth. the magnaflow muffler was a must, but I wanted to make it a little quieter when I needed to.
Should I stick two more smaller mufflers before each tip, and then have an exhaust cutout for when I want it loud?
Should I run true duals out the back, and then have cutouts for when i want it loud?
Maybe a quieter cat-back? magnaflow? with a cutout of course.
I sometimes drive my cammed car to work at 5:15 in the morning, and I wake everyone up. I have to think of an alternative.
suggestions?

He has long tube headers and an ORY. No factory cats, much less any cats at all...
There's a guy on here that put 2 short mufflers on before the tips, similar to the SLP PowerFlo but about a quarter of the cost. I don't know the brand. I want to say he went on eBay, and I *believe* they were 12" total length. You're not going to have a lot of room to work with, and the angles of the tailpipes themselves make it all the more difficult.
Having had the exact same setup in the past, I can tell you duals are by far the best option, but I have a feeling you'd want to keep exhaust tips.
Only options are really the SLP PowerFlo or adding the bullet mufflers right before the tips.

Sounds like you just don't know what you want. Your talking duals and possibly a new magnaflow..complete opposites. If you like it somewhat quiet at all times...yeah magnaflow/cutout.
If your thinking duals, theirs no need for cutouts. Their going to be loud no matter what you do. But imao....Duals are the best sound you can acheive. I've gone through chokemaster and lm1..just couldn't get that right sound and rasp was always an issue. Duals on the other hand sound like pure modern muscle, with a hint of that nascar roar. Not even the slightest hint of rasp. And for **** sake, don't let your neighbors dictate your decision. You can do what you want...it's not like your intensionally being an *******. It might cost you more money trying to figure out whats right (sound wise) for your neighbor and not yourself.

Sounds like we have the same setup except I have a LM 1 resonator instead, so trust me I feel your pain lol Have you looked into a merge pipe? I was told those kill some rasp without sacrificing too much in the way of volume. Personally I was looking at a FM merge pipe with a Magnaflow 14419 muffler. There was a member on here who did a write up on it and it sounded pretty good to me

I HAVE A 25 INCH BULLET MUFFLER IN THE I PIPE OF MY CAR, IS SUPER DEEP WITHOUT ANY RASP. I HAVE LONGTUBES AND OFFROAD Y PIPE BTW, I USED A THRUSH PREFORATED CORE GLASSPACK WHICH I GOT FROM JEGS FOR LIKE $40.

sounds good,
i been trying how to make my car a bit louder (muscle sounding) without having to spend a tons.
I currently have JBA shorty headers, Random Technology high flow down pipe cats, Off road y pipe and a flowmaster 40 series exhaust. to me it really doesn't give me that muscle tone that i would like so my resort is maybe cutouts unless you guys also have a better alternative which i could add or change to my current system.

I currently am in somewhat of the same situation as the OP. I have true duals, no cats and just the chambered power sticks after the X and it is very loud. Just looking for something to tone it down. I love the sound but it's just incredibly loud. I was thinking of getting some type of muffler right before the tips. I was thinking about getting a set of spintechs but the magnaflows you have look really clean up there.

That's the sickest set up^
My car is loud, but I realized driving home today. its more that I'm not crazy about the tone/ rasp. So I think I'll pick up tsp true duals, then I'll have them run out the back

It's really not loud. This is sound into my garage so it's a little amplified, but it's nice driving around town. People know you have a v8 but it's not obnoxious. On throttle it's unleashed and sounds awesome
