Thumbs up Just installesd TB with a question

Just installed my TB today. Looks great

However, when I fired up my car it was making a loud sound from under the hood. It seemed to be coming from the intake. When I shut it down and restarted, it stabilized on the idle but was still making the noise (although not as loud) I put my ear to the scoops and tt sounded like a wind tunnel.

I'm thinking that the noise is maybe the enhanced sound of the vacuum due to the less restrictive path from scoop to intake and the increased flow. If so that would be awesome. Then it shows me the TB definitely helped. Anyone else experience this?

Probably just the IAC (idle air control). It makes a hissing noise at startup, especially on ported TB cars where the IAC air intake hole is epoxied.

Yeah, that's it mine started that noise after I ported it. I took it off again and smoothed out the edges of the holes drilled in the epoxy and it's not as loud anymore.

Is it really anything to worry about other than the annoying noise when you do a cold startup? I am a little leary about sending my stock TB back now. Thanks

No, a whistling IAC won't hurt anything whatsoever.

Yeah, I tightened them fairly well. I can double check them. Anyone know the actual torque spec?
