Default Which brand of cutout is best?

I have a 3" cutout I have had in the past a qtp(lasted less than a year) and a dmh(lasted 1 month). I didn't want to buy another qtp because it didn't last long and i'm never going to buy another dmh again. I was thinking about going with a race ready cutout this time. Anyone have any suggestions?

Exactly what do you mean by lasted? How can a piece of steel wear out so soon? Unless you mean the motor on an electric cutout!

I've ran multiple DMH electric cut outs on multiple cars. Never a single issue. Customer service has always been top notch too. DMH gets my vote.

I was plannning to buy a MDH aswell, but ive heard lately its been very difficult to get ahold of DMH for customer service.

I havent heard much of Race Ready cutouts, but they seem like a good product.

I hear that from time to time and I actually talked to Dave @ DMH about this last year when I was in the market for another cut out. He went on to say that a lot of time they don't hear the phone ring because of the noise in his shop. Along with there isn't a lot of employees that work there....so answering phone calls all day isn't a option. I can say the 3 or 4 times I have called, he has answered right away and got me the product at a discounted price and within a weeks time.

Hopefully thats the case. I know they have a good product, but the complains were kinda steering me off. Ill probably end up giving them a call when i decide to buy my cutouts and go from there.

good luck calling him...multiple people have been trying to for months, along with sending emails on the daily basis...he doesn't exist any more, so i/and a bunch of other people are stuck with broken cutouts.

i never had an issue with my previous QTP's but when i bought a fbody i bought a DMH because everyone raved about them.

Summit $130. Ran it for 2 years and the motor went. Summit replaced it free of charge. No hiccups since I replaced it.

I have a DMH and it works well....

That being said it took forever to get ahold of them then it took well over a month, I think it was damn near two to get my cutout...

Customer service is very lacking, they do have a warranty but good luck getting a hold of them and getting it sent to you in a timely manner...

FWIW my QTP that I had before this DMH was on my car for 4.5-5 years and never had an issue. You probably just had some bad luck. I only got rid of it to go with a bigger cutout and went with DMH because of the warranty.

My DMH was garbage. It rattled something fierce and wouldn't close properly. I couldn't get a hold of DMH through email or phone. I gave up. There is a local guy who sells cutouts on eBay. Badlanz is the name, search for the website on google and take a look. I had no idea he was local to me until I looked it up. I plan on picking up a cutout from him next week.

QTP gets my vote. Two years with one and no problems at all and not a single leak.

Maybe you should get one of each brand, run all of them at the same time, see which performs best and which one ends up being a bust. Then do a thread about it

I have a 4" Race Ready Performance e-cutout. Top notch quality and customer service is great. Had a QTP 3" never sealed for ****. RRP seals perfect.

Are you drunk?

He has the worst customer service I, and others, have ever seen.

i have the cheap summit brand. been having it for over 3 years. its simple to wire up. It does rattle some and the bolts backed out of the bracket holding the valve on. Some thread locker solved that. Its been through alot and still works.

Yes, and high on crack rocks. I'm also getting ready to load a bowl of bath salts.
