Default Catalytic Converter Question

First time posting and I wanted to say thanks to everybody that's apart of this website. The amount of information I've gained from this site in the little bit of time is just priceless.

I've got a 2002 Z28 and I just bought some Pacesetter LT's with the EGR and AIR provisions. I'm gonna be getting true duals on it and I'm gonna be running cats. I bought the Magnaflow 3 inch inlet/outlet high flow spun cats. My question is, should I weld the cats on the header collector? They slide right over the collector perfectly but I've never seen anyone do that before so I'm assuming there is a reason for that. Thanks for any help.

I wouldn't, I would get some "band" style clamps for the headers and weld the cats to the dual system. Removing headers in the future would be a PITA with cats welded to them.
