Default 2 Ground "straps"

Hey,

I'm putting my engine back together and I wasn't able to see where these two ground straps go. Can anyone help me out?

1. Ground strap on passenger side of the engine off of coolant plug. It's next to the throttle body.

2. Ground strap that I'm nearly 100% sure it goes on the drivers side, lower block ground strap.

Thanks you for the help.

your pic in the first post is a ground strap for the pcv check valve. if you rotate the valve you will see a slit in the rubber where the strap will slide in.

I believe that is actually a conductive heater for the PCV valve (to keep it from freezing if it were to get moisture in it from short trips in the winter), and NOT an actual electrical 'ground strap'.

The pic in your second post goes on the ground wire of your alternator.

Thanks Torkls1,

I assume this is the ground bolt that's on the engine block drivers side? WTH does it go to or is it just there for looks?

Yup, the ground bolt that's on the engine block drivers side. To be honest, I'm not sure why it is shaped so goofy. Maybe someone with better knowledge of the piece can explain it.

Well, sounds like I can do without it. I've had the car for 10 years, and I don't remember pulling anything off of it. Maybe it's a ground for an accessory that I don't have or something.

Thanks again for your help,
Chris
