Default Corsa Performance Cat Back Plus Ory?

I recently bought a CORSA exhaust system. It sounds great at full throttle but a hate sitting at a stop light and the person next to me can't even hear it. I would like to have it louder. I looked at headers but I don't want to spend the money so I decided to try a off-road y-pipe. does any one have this setup. If so how does it sound. Is it as lound as the SLP Loudmouth because that is the noise level I want.

It will not be anywhere even remotely close to the Loudmouth sound without cats. That I can guarantee, as for how it would sound I have no clue...

Put a cam in, then they will definitely hear you.

Be careful removing the cats with the Corsa because A LOT of guys have had issues with the muffler deteriorating not to long after the cats were removed.

Yeah, and alot of guys with mostly stock cars with stock manifolds and cats have been having trouble with the mufflers. It's all a crapshoot. Supposedly from what I read on the boards here, Corsa has fixed their little problem. But I won't know til' I contact them and ask for a new one.

I think Derty has the setup that you are asking about. Check out the sounds portion in the sticky. (Or search for Derty in the Search key)

A guy in my neighborhood had an LS1 Z with a Corsa catback. He must have had the cats removed or gutted cause it was pretty damn loud. I looked under the car one day and it still had the stock y pipe so I know it didn't have headers. It sounded good.

The down load speeds suck but it's a free server so I don't complain.

Mine is very quiet at idle without cats, but once you get on it, it sounds really nice, not too loud, but not too quiet. Just right.

Corsa is designed to have a "whisper idle" as they put it, so it will be just that. Until you put a cam in of course.......

When I had the manifolds still on it was quiet at idle. You caould stand on it and it would get loud though. When I installed my LT's with Offroad y it was alot louder at idle and ignorant loud at WOT. My corsa was bought back in Feb 2002 before the new muffler was released. When the LT's were installed the muffler inards died. Their new muffler though is alot better in the design on the inside. You have a life time warrenty on the exhaust. Just send it back and get a new one if it dies. I love mine.

skewba98z28..... If you remove your cats your exhuast note will be significantly louder at all rpm ranges, this applies to stock manifolds also. A set of longtube headers will also deepen the sound. A nice cam on a 112 LSA sitting there loping also help alot! I loved how mean @ aggressive my Corsa was with my ORY but it was just too damn raspy even with a 18" Bullit muffler welded into the I pipe it was too raspy. I ended up going with QTP's Carsound Catted Y pipe and man the sound is sweet. The cats cut out the stinky smell of the 112LSA cam and also killed all the rasp. The cats really didn't quiet the car by much at all. It seems though that adding the cats made the exhuast note deeper also. I love everything about the sound of the Corsa, I just hope it doesn't fall apart!
