I read about it in a magazine this afternoon, just wondering if anyone has seen one or is using one. they claim to make 15-20hp over the ls6. also they have an 80mm or 85mm intake to fit there TB's for the ls1. any information would be greatly appreciated.

How much does one of these BBK intakes run? I heard they were making one but i've never saw pics or anything. I plan on buying some sort of intake manifold in the next month or 2 and i might try that one if it looks good.

This is the 1st I've seen of this...I would be really interested to see some dyno results on a stock cubed, big cammed, motor over the LS6 intake. I also think that heat soak would be an issue. But it sure could look cool with a little polishing to the exterior. Just a little bling factor

I dunno but heat soak is over hyped for street applications. Your IAT's are fairly high to begin with. How much will the air heat up at the speed it is going in the motor? minimal unless you drag, where every bit helps.
An intercooler or a little N20 would make up for that.
Another thing however is you would have to use coventional gaskets, which means sealant and messy clean ups upon intake removal.
A plus is you could go old school and port match on intake runners.
So yeap there is pros and cons. However if the flow outdo the LS6, there is potential.
Plus "Bling Polish" would look Sweeet!

Everyone complaining about heat soak does realize the vast majority of the quickest street cars on earth use cast AL intakes.Right?
While the composite make up of our manifolds has it's merits I believe the intake does not have to be plastic to work well.

Screw that intake, I am just gonna buy a LS2 intake, its gonna have a 90mm TB opening and rumor is it like the LSX intake with tall runners. And from the prices I have seen from work, is gonna be cheaper then the LS6 intake brand new!!!
