Any truth that SLP's "tuned" LT are better than equal length header?
I was wondering if there was any truth to the claim that because SLP's LT are tuned rather than equal length, they produce more of a HP gain? I have already decided to go with KOOKS but a buddy of mine insists on buying the SLP's because of that claim. I tried to talk him out of it because of the ground clearance issue and the level of difficulty in install, but so far it hasn't worked.

Even if they were "tuned", you would want all eight
primaries "tuned" the same - equal length. Where
you "tune" that length would have to do with your
engine's needs for mid/low end torque enhancement
vs top end restriction. But this is a one size fits all
world unless you have a lot of knowledge and a
lot of spare change.
If they say that applying an unbalanced primary
set is a bonus, I say Stupid Lying Panty-boys.

I have SLP's and i love themand have no problems with them. My suspension is stiff so the only time they scrape is on a steep driveway. They are tuned for exhaust scavigeing, so all the primarys dont exhaust at the same time.

Is there any truth to the idea that equal length headers will yield better peak numbers, but a tuned setup would provide more gain across the rpm range with out the huge peak numbers? The idea being that equal length will be very efficient over a smaller rpm range but will fall off outside of that range. The tuned setup may not yield the same max gain, but the uneven length will provide gains over a broader range?

i am pretty sure that if you search this forum you will find alot of ppl swapped between SLP and any other company (kooks, jet hots, QTP etc...) and gained a pretty substantial amount or power
