I don't think they are out yet. They are suppose to be available at Auto-Zone and Advance Auto parts. I called both of those places here locally and the had'nt even heard of it yet. I doubt if it will be much cheaper than the filters already on the market. I just put the Holley filter in my car, think I'll try it for a while.

whoa! that really sucks! I just saw their ad in the new issue of Motor Trend and thought that FRAM was onto something. Oh well, most people here are very happy with FRAM's paper filters already.

They have been really cool about it. I emailed the complaint and I got a phone call within 24 hrs. They want to reimburse me for the cost of the lid, the filter and inconvenience. I'm sending them pics of the air box so they can research what went wrong in their development. The only Fram product I have ever used has been their paper filters but this has been a good experience with customer service.

Hmmm, how did it break your lid??? Was the gasket too thick? Too thin on K&Ns and maybe too thick on AirHogs????? AirHog filters are already at my local WallMart, I looked at them and they appear to be pretty good. No rubber wicking into the filter media like K&Ns so it should {if the filter media is about the same} flow a bit better.
I've had a K&N, didn't like it at all. I now have a Holley, even the Holley seems a bit thin in the gasket area {no wear as thin as the K&N though}. I like it but I may try out the AirHog so I will have a filter to swap out when I service one,

The problem with mine was the removable tray inside the Air Box. It has ribs around the perimeter of it and the Air Hog doesn't have accomodations for that so you basically have to force it in, which puts some stress on the lid where it is bonded by the MAF. It is a nice filter, if they get the quirks worked out then they will send me the new style for free to test out.

I have a Amsoil 2 stage foam air filter and it fits like a glove, perfect. I got the SLP lid and no problems with the fiting an Amsoil air filter. They have a website, check it out if your interested. I also seen a little bit of hp and throttle response but very noticable with the added SLP lid.

To everone that is having problems with their air filter tray, all i did was take a razor blade nife(utility nie) and cut them away, it works fine and u dont have to replace the tray.. 2 about the fram filter, for that to be adjusted to a aftermarket is to trim the top sealent (the orange rubber piece). i have a slp lid and a fram filter and everything is fine!

Does any one have a fram phone # to call? I e-mailed them on thursday and haven't heard anything from them yet. i'm enjoying a great aftermarket fit!!! Well they must know by now that they dont fit worth a damn, thus the new tray they come with. As far as installing it with no tray...no thanks thats about a eighth inch gap all around the filter...kinda like a k&n, did i say that out loud. Hopefully fram will straight this out for me.

Mine went in fine today. Saw the new tray and didn't think that I needed it. Filter wouldn't fit. Pulled old tray out and viola', the new tray and filter fit perfectly.
