Default Got a free LSX intake today, have questions

My manager let me order the LSX intake today, and said happy early xmas! so after i was done laughing, and screaming cause i was so happy, I now have a few questions. Is the performance differance going to be noticable over my current LS6 intake? I do have a heads/cam car. Also, I read that it is a 3 piece intake, Im just worried that I'll have an vaccum leak somewhere, its just my luck . Am i going to loose any lowend TQ with this intake? Any other things you think i should know, please throw them in here.
Thanks

I have two questions...
1. Where do you work?
2. Are there any openings?

Awesome...you shouldn't have any sealing problems with the 3-piece design.

Sorry, I don't that much about that intake but when you get it on, what would you want for your ls6 intake?

I alway's gain a minimum of 10hp with the LSX over the LS6.There is some minor porting that has to be done to the LSX before installing to get the most out of it.

the porting is not a big deal. they just leave some material in there so you can port match the intake to your heads if you want, that's what i did. there are guide bars in the runners to tell you how much room you have to open it up with, too.

Needmoremoney,

Did you get a 78 or a 90mm LSX? Does the opening on the intake look normal or f'n huge?

Since you have a heads/cam car the lsx will work very well for you.

I have seen different things happen with this intake.
It defentially flows better than a LS6. I do agree minor porting will help you gain every CFM possible. Make sure you have a good Throttle body and plenty of air geting to the intake. I saw a guy throw a 78mm intake on a 99 LS1 with a LS1 intake and gain nothing. It was a bolt on car only and besides the K&N filter Air lid, plugs and wires this was his only performance part. He gained not one HP peak for peak and was -3 to +5 throughout the band. PISSED AS HELL. A week later added 78mm TB and gained 14 or better almost everywhere. All smiles then.
Your setup should be strong and it looks like your car is ready to run. Nice tranny choice and converter choice. Now all you need is traction and that little Nitrous button to run some nice times.
How fast have you gone so far?

There is more porting than that.Throughout the intake there are parts that need to be addressed. Not hard, just takes alittle time.

i know, i did some other things. when i took it apart i noticed how the upper runners do not match the lower..hope that makes sense i dunno the "proper" terms.

i removed that blockage so the runners line up..don't think I found anything else..care to enlighten me.
