Default Mufflex owners inside!

Do any of you have clearance problems between the rear axle tube and the over the axle pipe? I'd like to go with a 4", but I have a nice dent in my SLP dual dual right where it goes over the axle, which I'm sure is from the car squatting hard on the launch.

Do you guys have any clearance problems with yours, or have you remedied the problem? If so, how did you do it?

mine is just really really close..basically we played with it until it was perfect..but i have like prolly 1/8 inch clearenct between the over axle pipe and the underside of the car and less than an inch between the exhaust and the driveshaft..its close but as long as you make it secure its no problem.

I'm running a Mufflex 3.5" here, plenty of room with no dimples needed for clearance.

i imagine a half inch makes a big difference, i know it would have taken alot less dorking around with mine if it were only 3.5 instead of 4

My 4" fits with no problems. No rattles, nothing. Just make sure your exhaust guy is competent.

How were you guys adjusting it, just bending the hangars around a little to let it sit differently?

well for the over axle part the issue really was the fact that the I pipe was hitting the floor and then the area where the I pipe connects to the overaxle bend was hitting, too. we just had ot keep messing with how far we shoved the I pipe into the over axle bend to get both of those issues just right. I lost my factory hangers..used to hav true duals..and so we made our own.
