What size cutout for stock exhaust?
Hey when i store my 2002 z28 away for the winter (nova scotia winters are hard on cars) im going to d a bit of work on it and the first thing im going to do is great flowing exhaust, so because of my budget im going with evay long tube headers and y pipe and putting a cutout after that and keeping the stock catback (police no likey loud exhaust as much as you and me) so i was wondering what size an if anybody makes a cutout that would suit my needs? Also what cutouts do you run and have you had good luck wit them? Thanks

Correct me if im wrong but ive read numerous times and have of coarse seen the stock i pipe, and ive seen it to be said that it is 2.75" now maybe im wrong but thats what i thought, and i believe the y pipe im getting is goin to be 3 inch, so should i be looking for a 3"-2.75" reducer cutout? Is there suc a thing?

OP - stock Ipipe on v6 fbodies is 2.25" and 2.5" on v8 fbodies.
An electric cutout is a great idea if you want control over the sound of exhaust. You can have an emission legal factory quiet exhaust or fun when you want to be loud.
if you want to keep your stock exhaust as it is then a 2.5" cutout is way to go.

wouldnt it be a better idea to put a 3 inch cutout right off of the 3 inch y pipe? just a though as opposed to a 2.5'' cutout? and then get a 3'' to 2.5'' reducer to connect to the stock i pipe, seemed like a good idea to me but was just wondering what everyone else thought of it.
