Ok guys, this will sound crazy but give me your opinion on a 4 inch throttle body spacer so that i can clear my water pump neck on my truck 5.3 and ls1 intake. Will it hurt performance? I know they don't make one but I can use a couple of the cheap one and put them together I'm just being cheap and do not want to but the water pump and have spacers for it. I'll be running dbw throttle body not cable.

I know this idea is slightly dumb but still want to throw the idea around....I might be onto something lol

I'm also thinking of buying the l92 water pump and seeing if my throttle body would clear with only using one throttle body spacer, since I have the dbw it won't clear that l92 water pump like a dbc would. Then I wouldn't have to have the water pump spacers, that I am against using.

I have a 5.3 and a ls1 intake. Easiest way is to buy a water pump for a 2008 or newer truck. The water outlet is tilted. Fits perfict. Won't look getto or hurt performance. As long as it is a cable throttle body.

I may have to go with the 08 water pump, and try to make my dbw work. The correct pump for my application won't fit with the ls1 intake
