Default New Taylor 10.4mm wires = rough idle

I got some new wires, because my stock wires have 50k miles on them now. I thought the Talyor Thundervolts were listed at a good sale price at TR so I bought some. I installed them and fired up the car and the idle is very choppy compared to the smoothness of the stock wires. Is this normal for these wires? I used a light coat of dielectric grease that came with the wires. Any ideas what I can do to check these things out. I was told that someone reported having 2kohm resistance in some of the wires and the others had 200ohm, so the quality control must be... Anyways what can I do here to check them out? Thanks

It sounds like one or more of your wires are not on properly (either at the coil or the plug or both)...doublecheck your work and I bet your idle will be just fine.

I use them, never had a problem.

Just make sure they are all the way on.

I will check them out again, even though I have done so several times. I guess I will remove them entirely and check for resistance and in the mean time put the stock wires back on to make sure the car is idling fine.

it's VERY easy and common to not have all the wires on all the way. Check, and re-check them.

Yep, the only thing that it can be is a defective wire or one of them is not on all the way.

is there any difference really in aftermarket wires? and what size is right for our cars?

There practically isn't any difference in performance between wires. The differences lay in the resistance, appearence, and size. You would want to get wires specifically made for our cars because they have an odd length. Taylor makes really good ones, IMO.

Might check that the snap-connectors inside are
all properly sized to fit snug; if forced crooked
they might gap out and have intermittent contact.
Seen this on other vehicles, a bit of work with the
pliers and all better. Like fit each wire up to a
junk plug and a front coil, where you can inspect
them one by one.

I was only able to work on the drivers side, but I found that one of the wires doesn't snap onto the plug. So I pushed it on hard, but I don't feel very confident it is snug. I tried crimping the connector, but still no snap.

BTW, I tested the drivers side Taylor plugs and they measured around 28ohms of resistance each, that is sweet. The stock plugs I pulled where between 300-350ohms each, and that is a big difference in resistance. These Taylors rock in that aspect.
