Default Hi-Ram, Pro-Flo XT, or Super Vic for the 383 LS1 in my boat?

7/10/15 Update:

Wound up going with the Super Vic and 4150 throttle body. Just completed the install at lunch today - and added an LS6 valley for good measure. I will find out how it runs tomorrow.

Quick history. When the 383 LS1 in my boat was carbed with a Super Vic and 850 Demon, it would rev to 5800-6000 rpm. Now that it's EFI with a Fast 90/90 combo, it will only rev to 5300-5500 rpm. That would indicate somewhere between a 50-80 horse loss, and also about 5 mph in the boat.

SO, I'm needing to find a new intake combo that will hopefully let me have some of my power back. I also only need power between 3500-6200 rpm, with more emphasis being in the 4800-6100 rpm range.

What I'm looking at right now is:
- Holley Hi-Ram
- Edelbrock Pro-Flo XT
- Edelbrock Super Victor with 4150-style TB <-- is the combo I'm leaning toward more than the others.

Thoughts on this?

Engine specs:
383 LS1
11:1 CR
238/244 @ .050, .600/.600 lift, 113 LSA Bullet cam

I think almost all of the single plane carb style intakes flow really well at a lower cost of the aftermarket efi style. GMPP, edelbrock, etc
I think Mast sells an adapter to mount a standard LS TB to a carb style intake if you like the old school look.

Any more thoughts on this?

I know the Hi-Ram and Super Vic are technically better performers at a higher rpm that I'll be running...but boats tend to like all the air they can get, as I'm told, it's because they are under load all the time.

The Super Vic intake is cheaper than the Hi-Ram...but the price of an Accufab TB makes them come in pretty close to each other in final cost.

I've got one of these in red anodized I got off E-Bay awhile back if you're interested. It's used and has some minor clearance grinding the PO did. Will take $300 shipped, has TPS and IAC motor too. Can send pix if interested...

Here's now it look right now. It's hard to tell if a Super Vic or Hi-Ram will be the better solution. SO....I'll likely be buying both, seeing which works the best, and then going from there. I'll report back with my results...

I changed the title of this...the basic question here is, does anyone out there have any data on the Pro-Flo XT, Hi-Ram, or Super Vic vs a Fast 90 at rpm over 5500 rpm?

Good thread. With the bigger cubes, I think any of those intakes will get the job done, but I have a feeling the Super Vic combo will come out on top. You really need to get a custom cam to match the single plane intake setup. Doing that will really give you the power you want in your desired RPM range.

I think the Super Vic is a good choice as well...but I'm starting to lean to the Hi Ram or ProFlo simply due to the runners all being the same length.

And you're right...the cam in it now was never spec'd to be used with a single plane or TR

After a few years finally settled on the Super Vic. It's installed and I should have results soon.
