While the flowmaster sounds nice it is one of the more restrictive aftermarket exhausts for the LS1. I'd look elsewhere if I were you. Welcome to the site, by the way.

There have been dyno charts posted here showing the Flowmaster down 30hp in the upper RPM range compared to a Borla.
If you want something that isn't very expensive, works well and sounds good look at the hooker catback. It's under $300 from a few of the sponsors and gets good reviews from everyone using it. Look to the right side of yoru screen for companies selling this exhaust.----------------------------------------------------------------------->

"flowmaster" is nearly an oxymoron. flows for ****, sounds pretty damn good though. I had the hookercatback. sounded pretty damn good. still pretty quiet at idle with lt's and ory though. but WOT is WICK KED! fuggin rocks. i installed a cut out later on for when i wanted to be loud and obnoxious and with some of the air stll going through the catback and most going out the cut out, it only seemed to increase the sound of the hooker catback. just ******* rocked, but i went true duals with bullets cause i was looking for a different sound later.
but then again, i change exhaust systems like most people change their underwear.

I HAD THE HOOKER AND IT WAS JUST WAY TOO QUIET FOR ME. MY WORN OUT STOCK EXHAUST HAD A NICER RUMBLE THAN IT. PERSONALLY I AM A FLOWMASTER TYPE OF GUY. IT'S A SHAME THAT THE 80 SERIES DOESN'T FLOW VERY WELL. I WISH SOMEONE WOULD POST SOME DYNO RUNS THAT SHOW HOW BAD THE FLOWMASTER REALLY IS. SO MANY PEOPLE BAD MOUTH THE FLOWS BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY PROOF OF HOW BAD THEY FLOW.

well i could tell a difference when i went to gmmg from flowmaster. yeah it sounds great but my flowmaster with headers, no cats sounded just as loud as gmmg with stcok manifolds and cats, im not joking either. but when you get on it it sounds much more meaner than the flowmaster, has a deeper tone to it. like i said i could tell a bigger difference after cat back swaps than i could after headers. taking that flows-for-nothing master off there was the best thing i did. the tires turn over now in upper rpms like its nothing. that extra power also destoyed my clutch too but it was factory at 50k miles jsut about with the new spec i get the full feel and wow
