getting LT headers and Y. do I need O2 sims?
The headers are pace setter full length and its a hooker Y pipe. I have stage II LS6 patriot heads. (dont know if that matters or not but wanted to list to make sure.) anyway, do I need O2 sims? As far as brands go, are they pretty much all the same? or is one better than the other? If theyre pretty much all the same, where is the cheapest place to get them? if not, whats a good brand and place to locate them? thanks

When you get an ORY, off road y-pipe, one without cats, you also remove the stock O2 sensors which are behind the cats. The computer will detect that the O2 sensors have been removed and throw a trouble code (SES light). O2 simms trick the PCM to thinking that there are still O2 sensors and cats.
O2 simms are NOT needed by any means, all they do is prevent an SES light. When you get headers, you should probably get a tune anyways, and this SES light can be edited out.

very good answer, thanks alot. another question, once you get the ses light deleted, for say...02 simms, will the light still come on for other problems? or is it deleted all together?

You will also need to extend your front O2's to reach the proper spot. I just had my O2's deleted with LS-1 Edit...
SO... If you want a set of sims and a set of extended O2's for the front, let me know, I was going to list them on eBay, but I will sell them to you if you like! The sims have about 2K on them and the extended O2's have about 20K on them (before extension).

If other problems come up, the PCM will throw codes, BUT, since the SES light is already on for the O2 sensors being removed, you won't be able to tell there are other problems. Only way to tell is to do a computer scan and look at the codes.
